This service is intended to fill the gap left between you and your application support contract, and allows your staff to concentrate on more strategic issues as opposed to spending time just running the application.

Software Support Contracts generally cover online telephone support for software malfunctions and regular software updates.

From a user perspective they do not necessarily cover you for assistance with understanding the application's functionality and how to use it.

From an I.T. operations perspective, you will probably not be covered for every day technology management and regular maintenance / performance tuning of the system.
